Q: Old Cinema display to iMac

Hey gang,

I've got an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012) and my girlfriend just brought over an old cinema display (Model number A1081). I plug it into the back of my iMac and nothing happens. It's got a variety of connections, but only two will go into the iMac (USB and Thunderbolt display). The other two are a firewire and something I just don't recognize.

Is there a trick to getting the cinema to work with the iMac? Any help appreciated. I poked around Google and didnt' find a clear answer.
