I'd like to send my Amazon Prime shows from my Mac mini screen to my Appple TV .

I have a Mac mini and a big screen tv. I would like to use my TV screen as a monitor so as to watch Amazon Prime on the big screen. Is this possible somehow?

Mac mini (Late 2012), iOS 8.4.1

Yes. You can use AirPlay, assuming Amazon Prime allows it.
