Q: I am plugging in the HDMi cable and the light on the Apple TV goes off.

WHen plugging in the Apple TV. I first plug in the power cable. The white light turns on. Then I plug in the HDMI cable. At this point the light turns off. Does anyone know the problem?

Press the center button on the remote to turn the Apple Tv on. Plugging it in does not turn it on.

Also Make sure the TV is set to the correct input the Apple Tv is connected to.

Yes, the light is on. it is responsive to me pressing buttons on the remote, by blinking.
then when I plug in the HDMI the light turns off. simce it is not on, there is no way to test the input, although I tried just in case.

When the light is off, and the Apple Tv is connected to the TV, press the center button on the remote. does the Apple TV turn on? Or does the light blink at all?

If it does not respond, you may need to Restore the Apple Tv.
