i am having issues regarding the recent OS X update 10.10.5

I am having a problem with software update OS X 10.10.5. The recent update is not installing. Before even it downloads the update it says that you system need restart to apply for the update. But then after usual wait the system do not start. If i do the normal manual restart. the update still remains with the update initiated. Suggest..
