It sounds like your iPhone's display remains black, even when the device is on. Although you may have done some of the recommended steps, the following Knowledge Base article offers up a great checklist of steps for troubleshooting:
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you see a solid color screen (black, white, or blue)
- Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
- Force restart your device while it's plugged in.
- If this doesn't work, restore your device.
- If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
Thanks for participating in Apple Support Communities.
Kind Regards.

Turn iPhone OFF
Connect lead to USB on your PC
Press & hold power button DONT let go on iPhone .
Connect lead to iPhone keep power button pressed down
Until pc sees iPhone wait for restore .
You may need to do this a few times before it works.
