My iphone 4 freezes when in the middle of texting

My i phone 4 sometimes freezes in the middle of texting. Has anyone experienced this problem? The customer service representative had me reset to factory my Network Settings but that didn't seem to help.

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2
