Q: iPhone 5C Messing Up

I have an iPhone 5C and it's only about 6 months old. I am having huge problems with iMessage, internet, and my battery. I've already talked to T-Mobile and they fixed the service in my area (my area of Kentucky has been having problems with everything). I can deal with the bad internet but my problem with iMessage is ridiculous. My husband is away for military training and the only way we can talk is on the phone/texting.

My main problem: iMessage won't even load or start up. I was texting a friend this morning no problem, until I tried sending a message and it deleted it. I didn't bother with it and just went about my life. Then I opened up iMessage to send a video to my husband. It completely froze my phone. It eventually just went to the home screen. I tried again and the same thing happened. I then went into my contacts and tried sending a message that way, but when it opened in iMessage it shows the contact as 'No Name'. It still won't send messages.

The problem with my battery is probably just a result of barely having signal and always freezing...
