Pictures in iPhoto Failed to Migrate
After upgrading to Yosemite, my pictures in iPhoto did not migrate to the new Photos app. I am now missing hundreds of photos. Is there any way to recover them?

Where is your iPhoto Library stored? If it is not in the default location, the Pictures folder, Photos may not have been able to find the Photos library.
Drag the iPhoto Library directly onto the Photos icon in the Dock. Photos should open the library this way, unless the library is on an unsupported drive. Do you get any error messages, when you try to open the iPhoto Library tis way?
My iPhoto Library was stored in the applications.
Thanks for your tip, I dragged the iPhoto icon onto the Photos icon and it did not open.
When I try to open iPhoto, I get an error message that the version is not supported on Yosemite, and the new version is no longer sold in the US. Any suggestions?
