Apple WatchGo ahead and set up your iPhone. Having it plugged into the charger will not hurt the setup process. In the future all you have to do is charge the iPhone when the battery gets below 10% or when it is convenient to charge. I can usually use my iphone all day and still have plenty of charge left at night. But i usually plug the iPhone into the charger at night and have it fully charged in the morning when I wake up.
