Numbers - how to copy and paste formula

This probably is easy, but I can't seem to figure it out. In Numbers, how do I copy a formula in one cell and paste it into another cell without also copying the formatting of the source cell? In other words, copy only the formula and leave the destination cell formatting unchanged? Thanks

Hi pomme4moi,

Paste and Match style should do it.

The only available option with Copy is to copy only the Format (option-comand-C). Format includes font, style, size, colour, and any colour fill that has been applied to the copied cell. Paste Format (option-command-V) will apply those format settings to the target cell without changing the cells contents.

Copy always copies the cell's content (entered data, or formula) AND format settings.

Paste Values (now renamed Paste Formula Result) pastes only the last result calculated by the formula in the copied cell.

Paste and Match style pastes only the formula (which then calculates its result) or the fixed data from the copied cell, displaying the result using the current settings for the target cell.

Barry
