Q: wireless mouse not working correctly most of the time

I have the latest version of Yosemite installed on my iMac (27-inch, Late 2009).  As of late I have been experiencing serious issues with using the apple wireless mouse aka magic mouse.  I would say that 95% of the time, the mouse does not work correctly.  The strolling, swipe, right click, and all other gestures will not work.  I have tried among other things to reboot, restart, turn on/off the wifi, delete certain .plist files, and various other BS, that I have read on the discussion forums.  The majority of people have been complaining, with a very very small community saying their problem has been resolved somehow, magically, but most everyone else has the same issues without a solution.

My question is, currently as of this date of August 24, 2015, is there a solution out there for this dreaded issue??  Please chime in with easy to follow solutions if any.  Again, please explain in clear and easy manner, how to clear this pretty serious problem. At this point, I have given up after doing 5 days of research and getting nowhere.  Thank you and peace be with you for responding in an intelligent manner to my angry post.

If you turn the mouse upside down, do you see a steady green light?   If you shake it, does it flicker?

Okay.   Chances are it is either that the batteries are not quite long enough (which means you are using either sub standard or fake ones) ...or the contact points inside the battery compartment are soiled in some way.

First try cleaning the contact points inside the compartment (and also do the batteries themselves as they may have been contaminated).   Then go out and buy either Duracell, Energiser or Eneloop batteries from a reliable supplier.

Hope I am not seeming critical but people do sometimes try to save on batteries and end up with fakes or out of date stock.

So after 5 days of research, I realized I had a faulty mouse.  I bought a new one today, and every gesture seems to be working properly.  Reading forums can sometimes be very misleading as others had stated that buying a new mouse did not help.  So i'm crossing my fingers and hope that this problem will not return, and I'm hoping it was indeed a faulty mouse.  Thanks, Seventy One for your input.
