Question

My iPod touch will repeat songs while on Shuffle Mode

Since the last iOS update, whenever I Shuffle a playlist, it has a tendency to play the same song multiple times. I heard Lost in the Echo by Linkin Park on the way to school today. On the way home, while listening to music, it played the same song again, with around 20 songs in between the first and second time it played it. I didn't change playlists or manually hit to play a new song in between.

Does anyone have any tips or know what the problem could be?

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 8.4.1

This does not help me whatsoever. I know how to Shuffle songs, I'm trying to get it to stop occasionally repeating songs while Shuffling.

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync/delete all music and resync

To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Your repeat button is turned on. Trust Me, I suffered this problem many months ago. Look at the bottom of your iPhone while in the music app, and you will see the shuffle button & and the repeat button. If the repeat button is blue with a small number #1, then it is on repeat. Hope that helped.

I know how repeat works. It's not repeating the same song over and over again because it's not on repeat. It will play a song, play a few other songs, and then play that same song once again. It's resulting in not every song in the playlist being played.
