dhcp configuration with Verizon Fios router?

My network consists of an older generation airport extreme TC running the latest firmware with 4 subordinate airport expresses. I've recently added Verizon FIOS which comes with a Actiontec FIOS Modem/Router/4 port Switch. I've tried setting up the TC to bridge mode but started having issue with dhcp, clients not connecting to the network. Is it possible that I need to reverse my configuration and have the TC provide DHCP services and disable DHCP on the Verizon Actiontec?

I doubt that it is even possible to turn off DHCP services on the Actiontec router....but that is a question for Verizon as far as whether they would be willing to help you do this and also support this type of setup.

I think you may already know the answer on both counts.

I don't think that Verizon offers a simple modem option to their customers, but if they do, swapping the Actiontec modem/router or gateway for a simple modem would allow you to set up the Time Capsule to act as the network router providing DHCP and NAT services.

If you call Apple Support, they will advise you to run the AirPort Time Capsule in a full router mode of DHCP and NAT. That will produce a "Double NAT" notice...some folks call this an error.....on the network which Apple Support will tell you to ignore.

I'm not recommending this type of setup, but it might be worth a try to see how the Time Capsule will perform that way.

Thanks for the immediate reply, I have some more investigating to do with the setup, at current its setup with full router support (not bridged) and ignoring double NAT. I still experience periods of clients unable to connect to the network, I'm hoping I don't have a Ip range issue but its my next check, and one other question, utilizing the Verizon wireless in conjunction with the Airport device (same SSID and password) carry any benefits to my network unavailable issue?

That is normally not an issue unless you have manually tried to change settings on either the AirPort or Verizon router. The AirPort will use the 10.0.1.x range to assign IP addresses to devices that connect and the Verizon will use something like 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x.

You would NOT want to use the same SSID and password on both the AirPort and Verizon router.....unless.....you have the AirPort set up in Bridge Mode.
