iPhone 5s speaker issues

The speakers on my 5s have been working on and off for a couple months now (when listening to music, speaker phone, alert tones, etc). I've noticed that if I gently squeeze the sides of the phone it will start working again temporarily, before sounding distorted and then not working at all again. I've tried everything from restarting to cleaning lint out of the headphone jack, nothing has worked for more than a few minutes.

Hello, drews240.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand that the speakers on your iPhone 5s are not functioning as expected. I see you have tried a couple troubleshooting steps with the issue persisting. There are just a couple more steps that I could recommend in the article below. This also includes reaching out to us via the quoted section below for further assistance.

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker

If you follow these steps and still hear no sound or distorted sound, contact us.

Cheers
