My macbook has minor water damage

Hi guys,

My Macbook Air has minor water damage and I seriously do not know how. Apple Support are saying it may be caused by water condensation from a glass which seems strange and it would have thought it should cope with minor drips such as rain. Does anyone know if the Mac air should have a level of water resistance?

This is my first time using a mac and it's super disappointing.

Tell me about it!

I'm not even aware of where the water has come from and it's made my 6 month old computer so slow it is almost unusable.

Thanks for the link. The water damage isn't on the main board just in the fan so I'll have to look in to perhaps selling the part and moving back to a cheaper computer that's a little more durable.

Such a shame given everyone convinced me to invest in a mac after years of being a PC user - never again!

Apple Support suggested the minor water damage may be due to condensation. It's a bit shocking to me that such an expensive computer can be damaged with no fault of the user.

Not suggesting I could spill a glass of water on a PC or an Apple and expect it to work, but I've had an Apple for 6 months and with no fault of my own had issues whereas I had a PC for years and never had any issues of this kind.

It's difficult not to be disappointed.
