Have recently upgraded OS and seem to have lost TV icon from menu bar
Can anyone assist please?

After reviewing your post, it sounds like the AirPlay icon is missing from the menu bar. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
Use AirPlay to see your Mac screen on an HDTV - Apple Support
If you don't see an AirPlay icon
in the menu bar:
- Make sure that "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" is selected in Displays preferences. If you don't see this checkbox, your Mac doesn't meet the system requirements.
- Make sure that the Apple TV is awake. You can wake it by pressing a button on your Apple TV remote. The AirPlay icon appears only when your Mac detects an Apple TV that can be used as an AirPlay display.

Thanks Mario for your prompt reply to my query. I realised that my problem was caused by having turned all power to my TV switched off and needed to reset the TV's settings. Problem solved. Thanks for your help. Sorry I have not replied sooner.
