Q: Help / No USB when installing BootCamp on MBP Late 2013

I have been trying now for about a week to get Boot Camp installed on my MBP.  I am getting many difficulties along the way which have meant I haven't been able to complete it.  These are the steps and problems I am getting:-

OS - OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

1. Run Boot Camp Assistant

2. Click all 3 options, insert my USB 2.0 16GB pen drive and point to my Windows 7 Pro ISO

3. Go through all the options and allow Windows installation to start

Part way through it crashes out due to AppleSSD.sys not being available or missing.  I googled this problem and some said to download BootCamp 5.1.5621 to my MAC and replace the $WINPE$ and BootCamp folders on the USB drive with the ones in the 5.1.5621 folder.  I did this and started the process again and the installation pass this point.

However when windows I am missing many drivers, i.e. Network Drivers, USB drivers etc..  I can't connect to my Wireless network to download and install the,  Neither will the Windows installation see the USB pen drive that has the boot camp file on to install the drivers manually.

Basically I can't get the drivers inside of the Windows install via the Internet or USB... Help!!

This seems like a major flaw in the setup of BC for me and not sure how to address this??

Any ideas?  Has anyone come across this?  If so what did you do to solve it?

Thanks

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I know it worked first time it booted, then after going back to OS X, installing Paragon and copying the files to the windows partition and rebooting it stopped responding...

Safe mode doesn't work either, however keyboard does work when it prompts to say Windows wasn't shut down correctly...  I can scroll up to safe mode but when it boots no keyboard / mouse...

I've now deleted the partition and seeing if I put ver 5 files and auto unattended in the root of the USB and trying again...

I was going to suggest removing Paragon before you removed it after the copying, but it is too late.

    Ok, latest update...

Still got missing drivers and things not working right like can't right click on the trackpad in Windows.

I read that the bootcamp setup should have ran but guessing that due to all the missing drivers (and the fact USB didn't work in windows) that this didn't.

So I am using Paragon to copy all the files on but when I run the Setup.exe under the bootcamp drivers folder it says its not for this system and won't run.

I could install all the drivers manually but I suspect I may also be missing other things.

Any ideas on how to best get everything else installed / setup?

    Latest update...

So I got get up of not being able to run the bootcamp setup.exe from the generated files or the 5.1.5621 version I had downloaded, so I searched for Boot Camp windows setup files and found a link that when I clicked my Macbook version it downloaded v5.1.5640.

I copied these via Paragon and ran the setup.exe on the Windows and voila!!!! everything installed and running perfectly.. Including the USB drivers!.

It makes me wonder that if I had of originally created the Boot Camp Assistance USB, but replaced $WinPEDriver$ and BootCamp folders with 5.1.5640 then none of this would have been a problem...

    Thanks for your help!

    Based on my earlier post

5.1..5621 should be used for specific Macs, not all Macs based on System requirements to install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support .

My assumption was that you had tried .5640.

From Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640,

    File Size: 925.6 MB

    System Requirements

    • MacBook Air (11-inch & 13-inch, Mid 2013)
    • MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch & 15-inch, Late 2013)
    • Mac Pro (Late 2013)
    • iMac (21.5-inch & 27-inch, Late 2013)
    • Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, 64 bit

From Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5621,

    File Size: 924.9 MB

    System Requirements

    • MacBook Air (11-inch & 13-inch, Mid 2011)
    • MacBook Air (11-inch & 13-inch, Mid 2012)
    • MacBook Pro (15-inch & 17-inch, Mid 2010)
    • MacBook Pro (13-inch, & 15-inch, Early 2011)
    • MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2011)
    • MacBook Pro (13-inch,15-inch & 17-inch  Late 2011)
    • MacBook Pro (13-inch & 15-inch, Mid 2012)
    • MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
    • MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012)
    • MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch and 15-inch, Early 2013)
    • Mac Pro (Early 2009)
    • Mac Pro (Mid 2010)
    • Mac Pro (Mid 2012)
    • Mac mini (Mid 2011)
    • Mac mini (Late 2012)
    • iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010)
    • iMac (21.5-inch & 27-inch, Mid 2011)
    • iMac (21.5-inch & 27-inch, Late 2012)
    • iMac (21.5-inch) Early 2013
    • Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, 64 bit

    Late 2013 models need 5.1.5640, not 5.1.5621.
