Home Sharing on iOS 8.4 devices

With the latest update to iOS 8.4, it seems the access to shared itunes MUSIC libraries (aka home sharing) has disappeared. There's no more way of enabling that option in the Music Settings of iOS. Also Apple's recently revised guidelines only tell how to do this for videos Get help with Home Sharing - Apple Support . Has anybody found a work around for this issue that does neither involve a costly abo service or downgrading to an older version of iOS?
