Q: App Store and iTunes store problems

Both the Mac App Store and the iTunes store are not displaying images or downloading content. My internet connection is good and showing 50mbs download but every time I go to the App store it takes an age to load any content and then doesn't show images. The iTunes store doesn't show images and keeps showing me apps to update that are already updated on my iPad mini. I am running all the latest software etc. I heard there might be a problem with some of the Apple servers in Europe? I have tried clearing out caches etc and restarted both iMac and iPad several times but no joy. This has been going on for nearly a week now.

Any ideas?

Thanks for you help Alex.

In the end I checked out the DNS servers for my ISP and found that all devices had the router address with last three digits as 255 but the primary DNS of provider was different. I changed the DNS settings on my iMac, iPhone and iPad mini and downloading updates and viewing content in App store etc was all instantly restored and is working fine.

Hi Tim,

I see from your post that along with the iTunes Store and Mac App Store loading slowly, and images will sometimes not load at all. To start troubleshooting this issue please follow through the steps outlined below.

Make sure that you have the latest versions of iTunes and Safari.

If you have a firewall, your settings might prevent you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Learn how to configure your firewall.

Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Use Keychain First Aid to reset your keychain.

If you see a specific error message, get more help with fixing the issue.
If there's still an issue after you try the steps above, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are turned on for your network.
If you can’t connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support
