forgot Admin password-HELP!

Hi I tried tried downloading kindle for mac os x 10.5.8 and as soon as it is done, I click on the kindle window and it says Kindle item cannot be moved because applications cannot be notified. So I clicked authenicate and it says I need my admin username and password but I forgot my password. Any way I can change my password without complication? Please answer this as soon as possible because I need to a read a book for AP Government and I don't want to buy the book because its expensive. Thank you so much.😀
