iPhone 5 iOS 8.4.1 Battery Indicator Stuck

My iPhone 5 iOS 8.4.1 Battery Indicator Stuck after upgrading to the latest iOS. After I restart the phone, the correct battery level is shown but it gets stuck at that level again. Also the Phone will self restart after I restart it. Some times 2 or 3 times. When it is plugged in and charging, the level never changes. I only see the correct level after I restart the Phone. Any solutions out there? Any one else having this issue?

Hello Jeff,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

From your post I understand that your iPhone's battery is not charging, as well as it is getting stuck booting to the Apple logo. Since you've already restarted the iPhone, the next step I suggest is to reinstall iOS by following the steps below.

  1. Connect your device to a computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, you can borrow one, or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
  2. While your device is connected, force it to restart. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding until you see the Recovery mode screen.

  3. When you get the option to restore or update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

iTunes will download the software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your device will exit recovery mode and you'll need to repeat steps 2 and 3 again.

Have a good one.
