I accidently lost my applications folder from the finder as well as the icon on the dock. I have the 10.10.5 version. Can you please help me restore the folder?

Macintosh HD > Users > (your username) > applications

or

Macintosh HD > Applications

drag it to your desktop while holding command and option keys to create a shortcut to desktop.

or just simply drag the folder to dock and drop.

By "Finder" do you mean in the Sidebar?

If so, just open Finder Preferences, Sidebar tab and select Applications.

If that is not it, what happens if you type cmd-shift-A in the Finder?

if you deleted it then there is 2 options easy way or the hard way

the easy way ✅ is to copy apps folder from another mac using usb

the hard way ⚠ is to re install OS X

Do you have a backup?

Open the Go menu (on top menu bar in finder). Select Go To Folder" and paste this path /applications into it, then press enter or click Go.
