how do I sync my old ipod classic to my new computer.....I neve bought any music from iTunes, all my music on my ipod is copied from my cd collection...

I don't have my old computer, just my iPod classic.... And when I plug it in by USB to sync, all it is saying is connected, eject before disconnecting..... I can't seem to download the music from it onto my computer !?
