My 5th gen iPod turned itself off and now it wont turn back on.

So I have a 5th gen iPod that is roughly over a year old. It's a 16 gb with the iOS 8.1 I believe. I was using my iPod for a few minutes and set it down on my bed and the next time I checked it it was off. It couldn't have died because of a low battery because I was using it with a full charge. However I decided to set it on my iHome dock to charge because I don't have my charger with me and I also tired resetting it but it still will not turn on. What else can I do?

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
