I am trying to create custom stationery using OS X 10.10.5. I set up the page I wanted in Microsoft word and then saved it as a .jpeg file. I brought the file into Mail and saved it as stationery. It showed up in the Custom Category but when I click on it nothing happens. I want to be able to add text to it the way I can with the templates.
Thanks for getting back to me. I read the link but the only reference to creating custom stationary is
"You can also create your own stationery template. In a new message, format text and add images, then choose File > Save as Stationery. Your stationery appears in the Custom category."

It showed up in the Custom Category as promised but when I click on the image nothing happens the way it does with a template unless I go out of mail and then come back in. Then when I bring up the custom image, I cannot type text into it the way I can with a template. I want to be able to click on the custom image and bring it up and then add text to it the way I can with the templates. I know I am probably doing something stupid and appreciate your help.
How did you save the Word document as a jpeg image. I do not see a menu item save as jpeg in my Word.
I saved first as a .pdf and then as a .jpeg
Select None from the Signature menu in the message window and try again.
No different result. I am beginning to think this feature is beyond my pay grade and one I can do without. If anyone gets it figured out, it would be nice to see a "how to" instruction set or video as to making custom stationary for dummies. Thanks for all your help, though.
In Yosemite 10.10.5 I cannot use the Custom Stationary.
I have the 'Custom' folder on my Mail screen when i write a new email and there are older versions of my custom stationary, but I cannot select them.
I click on them but they will not come up.
I can create a new custom stationary and it appears, but it is blank and it, too, will not come up.
The older versions have an 'x' to the upper left for deletion, but the new one does not.
I cannot find the path to 'Custom' folder in Finder.
Why is Apple hiding the Custom Stationary folder and why do they not want us to be able to create a new custom email?
