If I migrate an iPhoto Library into photos can I then delete the file "iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary" from my pictures folder? It says its 2.7GB, so Im afraid of deleting it and losing those pictures.

Yes, but it won’t free up nearly as much space as it looks like it will, and will prevent you from using that library with iPhoto again. In any case, all the files you’d like to keep should be on at least two drives.
