My understanding is that when you connect one of your iOS devices to your Windows computer, iTunes becomes unresponsive and you have to force it to quit in order to continue. Is this correct?
It sounds as though you have already done some troubleshooting for this issue. I am not sure if the article you are referencing is this one or not - iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If so, be sure you have gone through each step carefully and in order. If not please do the troubleshooting in the article.
If this does not allow you to connect your devices you may need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. It is important to do so systematically. Please use the steps in this article - Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. You do not mention what version of Windows you have but the same steps apply to Windows 10 as well.
Here are the steps from the Microsoft support site about where to go to uninstall the components in the order listed in the above article:
Repair or remove programs - Microsoft Windows
- On the Start menu select Settings.
- In Settings, select System > Apps & features.
- Select the program, and then select Uninstall.
- Follow the directions on the screen.
To reinstall iTunes, you can go to this page - iTunes - Download iTunes Now.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Sincerely
