I Ran the 10.10.5 update from the App Store and after it ran my computer rebooted and is stuck on a light gray screen. It will not respond to any key combination whatsoever. I've tried resetting the SMC and it looks like that is doing what it's supposed to but all the other key combos don't do anything. I'm lost, please help!

Unless you tell us which key combinations you've tried that didn't work, we have no way of knowing.
See if you can boot in recovery mode.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to verify and repair the disk if necessary and restore OS X using OS X Recovery.
HI Carolyn. Hard to explain but no published startup key combinations work. There is no startup sound, no apple logo, just a light grey screen. Shift does not work. Zapping the PRAM doesnt respond. Option doesn't work. D doesn't work. Command R doesn't work.
