iTunes Error 5002

The hard drive on my Macbook Pro recently died so I had to get a new one and install OS X Yosemite on it. After setting everything up, I tried to download my music from iCloud to my iTunes, but I keep receiving the error message 5002 saying "Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again". i have tried updating my payment info, as well as de authorizing and reauthorizing my computer with my account. A majority of my music wasn't purchased through iTunes, but the music that was downloaded ok. Any suggestions?

Hi MostlyAppleTech,

Thanks for letting us know the issue you are having with iTunes. Since you had to install a new hard drive on your MacBook Pro, I would suggest restoring your iTunes Library from your Time Machine backup rather than trying to download all of your music from iCloud. Follow the steps that are applicable to you in this article:

How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support

I see that you tried to update your payment information. Try this again by removing your payment details completely, then signing out of your iTunes account to refresh it. Sign back in and input your billing information.

Change or remove your Apple ID payment information in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

Hopefully one of these troubleshooting steps will resolve your issue.

Have a great day!
