Jan 29, 2016 5:39 AM in response to badseed75by shaysis,Hi badseed75. I had the same issue, also with error 1671, tried everything, and eventually figured it out:
1. You connect your phone to your mac and hold down the home & lock button until it gives you a pic with a cable and an itunes icon
2. itunes should pop up and say there's an issue with the phone and it needs to be restored or updated, click restore
3. confirm that you want to restore, and then it will say that it's downloading the software update and will restore the phone when the download is complete.
HERE'S WHERE THE ISSUE COMES IN:
4. If the download takes more than 15min, your phone will go out of restore mode. DO NOT repeat step 1!
5. Itunes will carry on downloading the update (on the right of the search bar there's a little spinning circle, if you click on it it will show you the download progress)
6. once it has FINISHED downloading completely, repeat step 1-3. Now it will restore properly and you can set up your phone again from scratch (or restore it from a backup)
I don't know if this is will solve it for everyone, but after 2 days of trying and googling and speaking to iStore, this was the fix for me
