Welcome to Apple Support Communities and congratulations on getting your iPod nano!
In order to remove music from your iPod nano, you need to sync from iTunes on your computer with the music you want removed unselected. How to do this is explained in the iPod's manual - https://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1624/en_US/iPod_nano_2015_user_gui de.pdf
Specifically see page 16 in the section titled Manage iPod nano manually.
This article has more information on how to manage devices manually with iTunes. You don't mention what type of computer you have but in this area iTunes for Windows and iTunes for Mac are the same - iTunes 12 for Mac: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad
In particular see the section titled Remove items from your device.
