I have taken over my wifes Iphone5 and want to delete her icloud address and use a new one of my choice? How do i do this without losing any information stored on the phone?

All the data she has stored in her iCloud account would be deleted from the iPhone.

I'm technologically challenged so here goes. I am going to reset the phone and presumably it will then ask for a new Apple Id and password, and this won't affect the data stored in Icloud? Regards
