Safari won't load certain webpages but Firefox will

HI

I wonder if anyone could help. I have recently got married so changed my account on my Mac creating a new username and iCloud therefore deleting everything from before which was fine. I have tried to log on to a website that i always use www.tes.co.uk but when I tried to log on it won't let me it goes on to a blank white page saying loading but never does. I have to completely close the internet page as it won't let me then go onto a new page. However it does work when I go onto firefox. It works on my iPad and iphone as well so why not safari? I've tried clearing the cache, deleting the history, resetting safari, reset my wifi but still no luck. Can anyone help? I have safari version 8 and MacBook Pro Yosemite 10.10.5

Try a restart.

Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

I am having similar troubles. I emailed one of the sites I was trying to access and below is the reply I received from tech support. (Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to upgrade my Safari without upgrading the operating system from Mountain Lion).

The version of Safari that she is using is most likely out of date. The security on our website was increased and it works on the most up to date versions of Safari. There was a security update that was released by Apple on Jun. 30, 2015. Listed below are the recent versions of Safari based on the operating systems. She will either need to update to the current version of Safari or try to access the website from a different browser.

• OS X v10.8 "Mountain Lion" -6.2.7

• OS X v10.9 "Mavericks"-7.1.7

• OS X v10.10 "Yosemite"-8.0.7
