Windows 10 won't recognise my ipod shuffle

I have recently upgraded my pc to Windows 10. Since then I have been unable to charge my iPod shuffle through the USB port as I have done many times before. Both the iPod and pc are at least 5 years old but until the Windows upgrade I have not had any problems.

I have no problem launching ITunes as soon as I plug in. ITunes informs me that my iPod sync is complete but the device manager tells me that Windows is currently removing my device as I have this error : Windows is uninstalling this device. (Code 21),

I have removed and reinstalled a couple of times. Tried to update the driver but apparently it is already updated. I have watched more than a couple YouTube fix videos to no avail.

Can someone please help? I am not very computer minded and am out of my depth.

Hi Razzal
Having Googled the issue is appears many people are having the same problem as you and I.
I Tunes recognizes the I pod shuffle but Windows 10 doesn't. Even though it is listed as compatible by Microsoft.

My work around is to charge the I pod shuffle with an I phone charger. I Tunes then syncs normally connected via the usb port.
I have also tried reinstalling I Tunes and drivers but no success. Hopefully Apple and Microsoft can come up with a fix soon.
