Yosemite and webservices

Everyone,

I gather this question has been partially answered and wish to clarify a few things before I commit any changes. I have a development environment (Eclipse) set up on Macbook Pro (OS X 10.10.5), and have a couple of WebObjects applications that I am working on. When I launch one of those apps, it goes into a direct-connect mode and I can see my apps in a browser. The URL will then look like this http://127.0.0.1:5555/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyApp.woa

But I can't connect to that app from any other device. I have tried using the IP, computerName.local, with and without ports etc, but no luck.

Will these changes described here Setting up a local web server on a Mac work for me? Anyone have experience with this and know if that will somehow affect the direct-connect?
