File Sharing Permission problems

I have a Yosemite server set up for our faculty to have their own share folder. I've given read/write permissions to that faculty member for their particular folders. They like to create drop only folders within that for the students to submit assignments. I'm having the issue that if a student submits a single file, the faculty member is able to delete it from the server. If they submit a folder that contains multiple files, the faculty member is not able to delete that folder and sometimes the files within that.

All users are authenticating to the server via AD. I don't know if that could be an issue.

Am I missing someplace for folders to inherit permissions automatically? Thanks in advance for any help. This has been and issue for some time and I need to try and get it resolved.
