I have a 16 gig 5th gen iPod Touch, with my storage consisting of mostly music, apps, and then the two bad ones - Documents & Data, which takes up over 2 gigs, and Other, which takes up close to 4.5. I HAVE ALREADY TRIED RESTORING THE IPOD, resulting in no change. HELP!...

Sounds like you only restored from backup.
Try:
An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

To restore to factory settings/new iPod see:
So what you're suggesting is to restore and set up as a new iPod and then move everything back on, NOT from the backup?
Sometime the corruption gets into the backup and yo have to restore to factory settings/new iPod.
Over 4 Gigs of "Other"???
