Q: Airport used to work fine (for 2 years) now it will only connect 2 of the 3 Apple devices

I've had the AirPort for 2 years - couple weeks ago I could only get wifi on 2 of the 3 Apple devices.  If I disconnect the MacBook Pro, then the iMac will connect and my husbands iPad consistently goes off - we reboot the AirPort but that only temporarily fixes the problem.  HELP!

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

What exact model of AirPort base station do you have? Also what is the make & model of the Internet modem that it is connected to by Ethernet.

Thanks for your reply - I don't know what model I have - there is nothing on the unit and I had to get a magnifying glass to read the serial #.  I bought it 2 years ago.  Internet modem is Hughes HT1100

If you bought it two years ago, I am going to assume that you have a 2nd generation 802.1n AirPort Express base station.

Please take a look at the following image of this base station. Does yours look like this one?

If so, it sounds like the base station may not be configured properly or that it DHCP service is not working as you would expect it to ... and that is to hand out individual IP addresses to each wireless client on your local network.

Rebooting may not be enough. I would suggest that you perform either a "factory default" or "hard" reset on the Express. You will then need to use the AirPort Utility to reconfigure it again for your networking goals.
