Q: How to charge MBP Retina

Hi, Im wondering when to charge my MB. Currently I get the battery around 25% and plug it in until 100% or maybe a little longer and unplug it and use. My main question is if it's fine to charge when turned off. I've been charging the computer while using it or let it sit on and go into sleep on its own...

So is it fine to have the computer shut down and then plug it in to charge and unplug when the light turns green without having it fully turned on?

Also, do you plug the charger into the wall followed by the MB and unplug the MB followed by the wall?

Thank you!!

You may charge the MBP any time you want, using it or not.  It makes no difference what order you connect the charger

This Apple support article will give you some good information on batteries and their use:

I have two golden rules:  Never drain the battery completely where it shuts the MBP off.  That shortens the battery life.  When you get the low battery warning, terminate the session and connect to AC.

If you use the MBP connected to AC all the time, at least once per month, disconnect from the AC and run the MBP under battery alone to about the 40 % charge level.  Then reconnect to AC,  Lithium ion batteries require periodic 'exercise' in order to maintain their health and prolong its useful life.

    Ciao.
