I cannot get iTunes Match to work on my Mac...cannot Add Computer!

I am trying to Add my Computer to iTunes Match on my Mac, but after entering my password for Apple ID, it just hangs and nothing happens. All software is up to date and I have restarted my Mac a few times. I am able to authorize my iPad without problem. I purchased iTunes Match so that the music I have from my old iPad (CD's) can be saved and transferred to iCloud and accessed on both devices. Your assistance is appreciated. Thanks!
