Lighting a specific group/layer

Hello -

Is there a way to have a light in Motion only effect a specific group or layer?

Select the group or object layer.
F1 for the Inspector > Properties.
Open the Lighting section.
Set Shading to Off for groups and layers which should not be effected by the Light you added to the project.
Set Shading to On for groups and layers which should be effected by the Light you added to the project.

Hi Ben -

Thanks for your response. I think my difficulty is that what I would like to do is "nest" lights within specific groups to light specific objects and not have those lights effect anything outside of the group they are in.

Is this possible?

Not really, you're looking for something a compositing or 3D modeling app would be needed for. If there is a way to do this, I'm not aware of it.
