Chess Play - Mac 10.8.5

In the last 2 games the resulting game had me unable to move, but not in check. It was called a win for Black? The a next game play that had no check and still no move by Black to put me in check and called a win? Maybe in several moves, but no finish to the game? Is this a game play of the logic issue of the application. Or what?
