How to you apply filters to multiple photos

I am using Yosemite OS X 10.10.5 and Photos app. Is it possible to apply a filter to multiple photos at the same time? I was travelling and took stacks of photos on the iPhone 6 Plus and couldn't understand why they were washed out. Now realise that I didn't have the right filter setting. I have downloaded the photos from the iPhone to the MacBook Pro and whilst I can edit and apply a filter to a photo individually - can I apply the same filter to multiple photos? Appreciate your help

It's rather simple but not obvious.

1 - make all of the adjustments/edits to a photo that you want to use in all of them.

2 - Control (right) - click on the image in the edit window and select Copy Adjustments from the contextual menu:

User uploaded file

3 - use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move to the next photo in the group.

5 - Control (right) - click on the image andselect Paste Adjustments from the contextual menu and go to the next photo.

can I apply the same filter to multiple photos

Not in the way that you had hoped, I suspect. You can however speed up the process by opening a photo in edit mode, applying your edit and then using the arrow keys on the keyboard to move to the next photo and repeating, rather than having to click done each time and entering edit mode each time.
