My screen went blank after following instructions from a CLEAN YOUR MAC site that walked you through procedures to clean your Mac. After following instructions rolls and rolls of numbers, words and symbols scrolled down the left hand side of the screen and the screen went blank and this is where remains.

Here are some of the instructions that I followed to Clean Mac:

Disk utility-click Mac HD-look for verify disk-click-when done will say repair

Click verify disk permissions-hit repair

Go to finder--hold down option key-go to library a big file will open-double click APP support-go to sync services

Hold down command key-tap letter I - to see how big file is if it's too much stuff just delete contents not folder.

In library go to iTune you don't need.

In library go to iMessage's and cleanout.

Time machine editor - download folder-look for DMG files-trash them-I quick trash- together hit command delete.

System preferences-go to users and group. To get rid of stuff and users click lock use minus symbol to delete.

In iTunes--go to the click duplicate items

The END.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.6), could be higher than 10.4.6/7/8

Mike,

I also contacted Apple technical assistance and they were kind enough to give me one time free service.

We did get the system booted up by powering up, immediately pressing option-command / r & p.

The load bar came on and then the hard Drive symbol and a couple of other apps came on.

We were able to get to my documents and opened them. What we couldn't do was get the dock

to show up at the bottom of the screen which indicated there still was a problem.

So I realized at that point not having a start up utility disk I had no other choice but to take it into an authorized Apple repair.

I paid for the diagnostics and should hear from them by Friday or Saturday what they discovered and what it will cost to restore the Mac.

Thank you for your assistance.
