Accessing iMovie Library on Finder
How can I open the iMovie Library folder in Finder to choose files to move to an external drive? My startup disc is full and I need to free up some space. Thanks!

You don't do it with the Finder but you create a new library on the external drive and move events into it from within iMovie. See: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/mov3fa25bae7
