my internet connections are fine, I checked, and I even tried to download on LTE but nothing is working! Nothing is being downloaded. It's like Apple is having server issues of something. I've restarted the phone and iPad but no budge. i hope I'm not the only one having this issue.
iPhone 6, iOS 8.4.1
Try this:
1: Launch the Settings app, scroll down and tap on iTunes & App Store.
2: Tap on your Apple ID, and select the ‘Sign Out’ option from the pop-up menu.
3: Type the password to your Apple ID to login again.
No problem with Apple servers > Apple - Support - System Status
Try a reset. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings then restart he device then try downloading content from the iTunes or App Stores.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password then try a download again.
Have the same problem as noahrl. Tried what has been suggested but nothing worked 😢
i can confirm the problem, originating from today, aug 08-27-2015. yesterday, all had been fine.
updates for apps in itunes or on mobile devices come in at speeds between 150 kB/s or even 20 kB/s only. no way!
internet is fine, all apps working, speed test states full usual download and upload rate. router monitoring tells me that there is no action in background going on.
i also notice that itunes asks me to type in my apple id password every single time i open it.
this is via wlan and lan, for all my devices: black macpro early 2014 and macbook early 2011 (both macos 10.9.5, itunes 12.2.2.25), ipad mini retina and iphone 6 plus (both 8.4.1).
anybody got an idea?

problem still going on. even worse now: max download speed 25 kB/s all the time...
I have the same problem. Tried with different providers: cable, DSL, LTE. All connections are fine, just downloading form iTunes is extremely slow.
today everything back to normal.
had a call with apple. they say they do not know anything about it.
and it is slow again.
since this is definitely on apple's end - why don't they tell us what's wrong?
Since a few days it works again. Transfer rate is normal like before.
back to normal last 3 days. keep fingers crossed.

I can not download from the iTunes store or appstore. PC or iPhone. The downloads are slow to start and are incriblemente slow speed to download. I'm in the US iTunes Store.
Yes Still the same problem.its very frustrating esp for me as I bought a new I pad and cant install anything on it 😟
I am also facing no download problem since yesterday in India. Apple outlet says that other customers have also reported same issue. All my three devices have same problem even after changing broadband network and trying all settings
