Q: Restoration from iPhone backup via iCloud does not restore accounts settings on iPad
Hello,
I've purchased iPhone 6 and iPad mini 2 recently. When I had iPhone 6 set up finished, I run iCloud backup. Then I wanted to save time and effort and new iPad mini 2 to state as similar to iPhone 6 as possible. So, according Apple support articles I erased everything to start restoration from iCloud. At the point assistant asked for backup selection, I picked latest iPhone's one. At this moment dialog appears that because of using iPhone's backup on iPad, no settings would be restored.
Sadly, the dialog was right, only empty apps were restored, no login credentials, no mail, contacts and calendar accounts settings.
But this article Get help finding missing information in iCloud after restoring an iOS device - Apple Support reads
"Mail data isn't included in your iCloud backup, but your backup does include the settings for your iCloud email account and any other email accounts that you've added to your device. After the restore process is complete, your device retrieves any email messages available from iCloud and your email service providers."
I don't use iCloud email account, this shouldn't be issue here, should be?
Any ideas?
iPad Mini, iOS 8.4.1, iPhone 6 iOS 8.4.1
