Mail is deleting my messages automatically.

Hey all!

Having trouble with my mail client. I'll get a notification in the upper right hand corner of my desktop that I have a new email in mail, but it quickly fades away and the message can only be found in my trash folder. These are not spam messages, but rather emails that are semi important. I checked on both of the web based logins for my two linked Gmail accounts and there are NO filters set. Does anyone know how to fix this?
