Optical Drive with Late 2013 iMac Big problem

Hey Peoples, I am running Yosemite and using an OWC outboard optical drive. I keep getting this error when I try to burn a CD.

If I use my Macbook pro, all is good. Both are running the latest operating system including the updates. Anyone got a suggestion as the why this is happening?
