Is the device in discover mode?
When I go to the Bluetooth area to connect, the icon just spins while it continues to search for a device. I have tried my vehicle, JBL speakers and headphones.

And have you put the system you want to connect with into Pairing mode? Check the manuals for the devices for how to do this.
Any luck with the Bluetooth on iPhone 6?
